We were at our wits’ end after dealing with two contractors who failed to complete our stair flooring properly. The first contractor started the job, took a partial payment, and disappeared. The second one “finished” the job, but it looked like a 10-year-old did it—the laminate was poorly cut, didn’t line up, and was even dangerous. Several bullnose pieces popped off, and despite being paid, they refused to fix their botched work. During the holidays and after nearly three months of this nightmare, we called Allan—and we’re so glad we did. Allan came up with a completely different and much better plan. Instead of using bullnose, he cut the treads flat and installed solid oak stair treads. For the risers, he carefully cut and installed additional pieces to ensure a smooth finish. He then expertly color-matched the stain and sealed each tread. Allan is a true perfectionist. He paid attention to every detail, sanding the sides smooth and ensuring every stair and riser was flawless. The result? Beautiful, solid, and safe stairs that we wish had been done this way from the start. Thank you, Allan, for turning this disaster into a success.
